Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) by Kara F — 04 Jul 2015
I've never much been a fan of Quentin Tarantino's work, and this wasn't much of an exception. As a feminist, I love the lack of a better term, "girl power" in this movie, but that's all it deems to offer on a somewhat lackluster platter.
The fight sequences are at sometimes stunning but also sometimes unbelievable. Apart from the interesting theme and concept, the editing could have used some work. Why do we need various whole scenes of dialogue that don't seem to advance the plot?
