Review of Kids (2011) by Henri L — 15 Jun 2008
It would be too kind to call it a docu/drama but this has an authenticity that almost goes beyond realisme. This is one of the most hard core movies ever made: Grim and sick with nothing else but unlikeable yet very real characters.
Don't know why I keep coming back to this again and again but it must be one of the very best films I've ever seen. Larry Clark is a genius, Harmony Korine one of the best writers today. It is obvious why Sevigny and Dawson are two of the best actresses today - and they still pick their movies with care - although I wonder why Fitzpatrick never made it bigger.
This is a modern masterpiece that unfortunately never will be out dated.
