Review of Kick-Ass (2010) by Shane H — 20 Jul 2013
This movie was great to watch. I purchased it off of On-Demand, seeing as a sequel was coming soon enough. And let me just say, it was far worth the 2$+... in fact its worth getting on DVD which I may just grab in the near future to rewatch it over and over.
The story revolves around a wannabe hero, trying to be a hero but not exactly doing what batman does, and a father and his daughter being better at the hero-ing, but not exactly doing things for the greater good but in a fit of revenge, which is great.
The comedy scenes with Dave getting hurt are hilarious, the scenes with Mindy and Damon kicking ass are beautifully done and its just a great ride I didn't want to end. Literally! I checked the time going "No don't end soon please" throughout it.
Granted, the gore is pretty graphic at times, least to an extent. Nothing I cringed at, but then again I don't cringe too easily. All in all, a great funny movie which combines comedy, drama and action all in one bowl and nothing overpowers the other.
Worth a buy, and watching it over and over again~.
