It is a very visually stunning movie with a really beautiful soundtrack. The costumes are gorgeous and everything about this movie shouts "Mira Nair"...
The acting could have been much much better...I think only Sarita Choudhry was able to put up any emotions. Indra Varma was very flat and wooden throughout the movie and Naveen Andrews would sometimes slip his British accent into his character.
The story is simple, tragic and beautiful, with very slight twists. It is partly like Moulin Rouge (minus the quirky comedy) but strangely written and made a few years before it.
A highly recommended movie!
