The sets are gorgeous and so are the ladies. The dialogue is unforgivably bad. "But Maya, you are nothing but a lowly servant!" is a typical example of the as-you-know-Bob exposition technique, which should not be used ever.

I found it difficult to understand Maya's motivations. She sleeps with a king to make her best friend mad, then she falls in love with some other guy, then the king gets mad and kills that guy, and it's supposed to be tragic? This situation could have been easily avoided if she had a sassy gay friend.
