Review of Kahaani (2012) by Krishna C — 04 Jul 2012

Firstly this is a story of a woman who is searching for her missing husband in Kolkata. She is an NRI and she is pregnant. The first place she visits is a police station to file an FIR. From here on the movie takes a dark turn as a few corrupt stones are upturned which makes her "independent" investigation into her husband's missing status.

This movie is well deserving of the term masterpiece as it stars a female protagonist which is very rare in Hindi movies. Despite all odds the way she finally gets to the bottom of the whole case forms the crux of this movie... IT has some really memorable characters esp Bob Biswas the contract killer is a stand out a nerdy down to earth looking guy with an evil intention. You will be left amazed at how well the story unfolds with plenty of twists through out the movie and a brilliant climax. This movie is exciting and well done. Special praise should be doled out to Vidya Balan for giving us another memorable role... She just slips into her roles so well.
