Review of Kagemusha (1980) by Virgil B — 11 May 2008
This movie is in my oppinion one of kurosawa's best movies. it is very slow, but the character study of some one who is living as the shadow of a great man is very fascinating and keeps the viewer on edge throughout the whole 3 hours.
yes kurosawa got carried away with the visuals, but that is what he does and it worked in this movie because movies like this are supposed to be like that. if you like kurosawa you must see this movie.
