Review of Kaboom (2010) by Elizabeth M — 12 Feb 2014
At first it sounded interesting and the trailer was pretty inviting into this new madness from the super awesome director of The Doom Generation and Mysterious Skin. Unfortunately this new film falls really flat, it's well shot and crazy enough to keep you entertained but it doesn't feel right.
somehow Araki has lost himself in this not so great and not so crazy film about a guy experiencing some weird visions and encountering a bunch of really crazy people. Only Juno Temple really attracts the attention in this film, the rest of the cast being dull in my opinion.
Araki is a talented director, but he needs to work with better material.
