Review of Justice League: War (2014) by Aidan M — 09 Mar 2014
Too much action. 90% of the plot development happened while they were fist-fighting aliens. There should have been more moments of tension or suspense in between the fight scenes so that the action sequences feel more meaningful/satisfying/climactic when they do occur.
Instead It just dragged on and on and on... The whole movie was one long monotonous brawl. With that issue aside I enjoyed it. There were some funny parts, particularly the friendly rivalry between batman and green lantern, and Wonder Woman's obsession with ice cream.
All the members of the Justice League were well characterized except superman who was boring as usual and felt like more of a robot than the guy who was half machine, then again, maybe that's just the way superman is.
.. I don't regret watching it but I probably won't watch it a second time. It's no Year One or Dark Knight Returns but it's better than your typical Saturday morning cartoon.
