Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Markús E — 24 Jun 2018
The star rating is almost arbitrary, Plot-wise Fallen Kingdom is sometimes stupid beyond belief. The screenwriters did a hack job. But those three stars go to director Bayona and cinematographer Faura.
From the opening scene on they manage to create a really tense atmosphere and even with a paper thin plot this is easily the most exciting film in the series since the original. I also really appreciate the change of scenery (as dumb as it is) because it gives Bayona and Faura the chance to work their gothic horror movie magic.
And I've never seen my 6yo son so tense watching a movie (a good thing - he loved it).
