Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Dylan N — 25 Jun 2018
I like this movie about as well as I like the first 'Jurassic' sequel, 'The Lost World,' and that's a Spielberg joint... so I guess that's saying something.
Yeah, I'm damning this one with faint praise. The thrills & chills are there - and there is some visual inventiveness on display. The leads still share a terrific chemistry. The score wasn't memorable - and I wish the iconic Williams themes had been evoked more often. James Cromwell is underused, and the truly intriguing plot developments surrounding his character are underdeveloped.
The ending was surprising, and it indicated a promising direction for the franchise - one that's really new. Of course, the end of the last entry pointed that way, too.
This was an entertaining interlude. Bring on Jurassic World War, already.
