Review of Junebug (2005) by Brad J — 10 Jan 2008
This is one of my favorite movies. So many films about the South get so many things wrong. In this movie every detail is correct... the accents, the settings, the costumes are all perfect. (Any guy who grew up in rural NC and then attended Chapel Hill knows exactly what kind of shoes you're supposed to wear to mark the break from redneckdom.
. .they even got this detail right.) And the story is very affecting. Take out the cigarettes and add a lot more religion and you have my family. :-).
