Review of Junebug (2005) by Emma S — 31 May 2010
This reminded me a bit of "Little Miss Sunshine" with it's dysfunctional family dealing with all it's little quirks and such. Amy Adams was certainly the highlight of this film and I adored her in it.
I don't think she's been in a film where you can't help but absolutely adoring her. I love how enamored with everything she is in this film - so easily made happy! I liked the "southern feel" of this movie, despite it's flaws.
No matter how backwards movies can sometimes show the South to be, I can't help but always feel proud of being a "southerner", myself. I liked this movie - was it completely memorable and wonderful? No, but an indie flick worth seeing, for sure.
