Review of Juliet of the Spirits (1965) by Chris A — 21 Oct 2007
Fellini's first foray into color, and immediately you're blown away by his masterful use of it as you're swept away into the whirlwind of Juliet's situation. Giulietta Masina drives this film witha true tour d'force performace.
The film does feel a little long, and I definiately felt lost in it at times, but when it's all over (a beautiful ending by the way) I was able to put everything in its place and appreciate this story about a woman needing to let go of her past and her preconceived notions of how she/her life should be to finally be able to really exisit in the world and live fully.
