Review of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) by Leia C — 26 Jul 2007
An interesting experiment in Dogme 95 techniques, but despite being quite unique it never entirely works. The scenes in Gummo feel as if they are building to something. We have a total picture of place without every being told.
The picture of this family is vague at best, despite a very strong performance from Bremmer.
