Review of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) by Tristan G — 25 Mar 2009
:fresh:
This movie is a refreshing look at the real side of mental disease. Korine elaborates that films portraying psycological disorders as being cute are 'crap'. He succeeds in showing us how hardship can force family life to deteriorate and cause pain. Julien Donkey Boy captures fantastic elements of pain and absurdity with roles being fabulously played by Ewen Bremner, Chloe Sevigny, and Werner Herzog. One of my personal favorite films.
