Review of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) by Bill T — 28 Jan 2012
I generally run hot and cold on Harmony Korine. He's got a way with films that is certainly... interesting! But it's really not bag of wax. (His best film in my opinion is the fantastic Ken Park) Here, Julien is played with fearless abandon by Ewan Mcgregor as we see episodes from his life.
There's no real plot, just a bunch of episodes. At least Werner Herzog is playing his Dad. That alone made this passable.
