Review of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) by Jonny B — 26 Apr 2011
Harmony Korine manages to create a film that intrudes into the viewer with gorgeous, original, abhorrent, and intoxicating visuals. Herzog is hilarious especially when he's stoned on cough syrup. This film is not for everyone and I find that to be shameful.
'Julien Donkey-Boy' is pretentious at times but pretentious doesn't always make a film weak.
