The supreme screen menage a trois, with the three leads as sweet and wonderful as a French pastry. Francois Truffaut's immortal tale of love, friendship, desire, freedom, revenge, beauty, nature, betrayal and tragedy seems to fly by at break neck speed, yet we are never lost.
We come to know these people so well, we'd consider them our own friends. Jeanne Moreau singing is one of the few sounds I wouldn't mind hearing again and again for a long time. A classic.
