Review of Jules and Jim (1962) by Andhika B — 15 Jun 2010
A very interesting Truffaut film, it's one of those movies that you can watch again and again and discover something new, that's a rare quality in a movie. The movie focuses on three, essentially crazy people, Jim, Jules, & Cathrine, all whom are caught up in a love triangle that expands for nearly 25 years.
Jim & Jules fall in love with Cathrine, Cathrine marries Jules, Cathrine then ends up with Jim, then back and forth, she cannot make up her mind. It's one of those ingenious plots that really captures you in the moment of it all.
The film does tend to over stay it's welcome by the length, but it makes up for it's cinematic art work, great camera, flashy fast paced editing, and terrific direction by Francois Truffaut.
