Review of Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) by Josh P — 10 Apr 2010
This is one of those great movies with a cast where every single performance is amazing. The subject was touchy at the time even though it is a fictionalized account especially with the inclusion of real concentration camp footage.
Every actor is amazing in this film with Maximilian Schell and Richard Widmark burning up the screen with intensity as they deliver their many speeches as the lawyers on opposing sides. There are also the smaller roles from Montgomery Clift and Judy Garland who take their screen time and make us understand the tragedy of their character's situations in a matter of minutes.
And Burt Lancaster. Man, he doesn't say much but when he does, the everyone is listening.
