"Joy" is one of those movies where everything seems just a little too extreme. Joy is a woman who gives everything up, only to try to recapture it later in life. She's an inventor. She tries to sell her products.

Will she be successful? Well, I'll tell you that the events in this movie are fascinating but hard to believe. The story takes some turns that are just, too simple, too weird, too extreme, and too coincidental to be believed.

J-Law is great, and there are some lovely tender moments here, but the crazy plot is distracting.
