Jane Wyman is excellent as Belinda a deaf, mute woman who until a Dr who begins to tutor her on sign language is referred to as "the dummy". Drama ensues when she is raped and becomes pregnant.
Nice movie with a few twists you would not expect. Crazy to me how people with special needs were treated back then and portrayed in movies.
