This film is... bad. There were lots of disturbing scenes and the sight of a bunch of roaches running around is kind of disgusting. What I really don't like about this film is how the roaches themselves are.
They're sort of annoying and never give Joe any privacy. They also purposely ruin his chances at finding a job even if they apologize. The relationship between Joe and Lily is not very interesting, neither is Joe himself.
On the positive side, there are a few funny moments and the musical numbers are fun, especially "Funky Towel". I guess the film can be considered a mindless comedy as it's not meant to be taken that seriously.
If you're looking for brainless weird fun, Joe's Apartment isn't a bad film to check out.
