Review of Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten (2007) by Jennifer S — 15 Oct 2007

I have been a Clash fan for years and I was disappointed. The first part of this movie was brilliant. I loved all of the old footage of the band. But then...all of this campfire bullshit. When Bono appeared it was over for me.

This movie should be about the Clash, not Joe Strummer because after the band broke-up his life was quite boring, hence the second half of the movie. And by the way the soundtrack was good, it could have gone much further.

What about all the obsure songs from London Calling? If you want to see a great musical, go see Once.
