Review of Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten (2007) by Guillermo C — 22 Jun 2008
This is Strummer's life in about 2 hours. It spends a good amount of time on his childhood and youth, a big chunk on his time with The Clash, and even a fair amount on how he spent the the rest of the 80s and early 90s after the breakup.
Its kinda short on the last few years of his life though. His time with the Mescaleros could've been covered more extensively. Overall this is a great documentary about Joe's life. And it is about Joe's life, not The Clash.
If you wanna know about The Clash go check out Westway To The World. Also, it's fun to see the different people who show up to talk about Joe and what he meant to them, including Johnny Depp in full pirate makeup.
