Review of Joe Dirt (2001) by Vitor A — 08 Sep 2012
Nice, fun, simple comedy starring David Spade as Joe Dirt, a complete idiot with a very pure heart, seeking his parents in the four corners of USA. He could be Forrest Gump's cousin, but the tone of the film doesn't allow it.
Joe Dirt never takes things too serious, and although he's surrounded by a superb cast of actors (only seen in the likes of Woody Allen movies), he is too silly to be compared to Forrest. Still, it's worth watching if you happen to catch it on some Sunday afternoon TV matinee.
Final note, it's important to say that if you like rock music, then the soundtrack to this movie should make you go to heaven! Def Leppard, AC/DC, 38 Special, Eddie Money, George Thorogood... you name it, they're all here!
