Review of Jodorowsky's Dune (2013) by Marilyn T — 19 Jul 2014
I have never read Dune. I have only seen the Syfy Channel mini-series and was somewhat entertained. And yet, Jobrowsky's Dune is flat-out in my top 5 awesome movies of this year. The raw beauty of this Spanish man is his passionate vision to join a group of visionary creative "Warriors", as he calls them, for an almost insurmountable task in the 1970s: to adapt one of the most famous sci-fi novels of all time, Dune.
He made sure his 12-year-old son trained on all sorts of martial arts full-time for 2 years straight to take on the lead role. The Foss art is just eye-popping! There's so many moving parts to this documentary that you can't get to the credit crawl and not feel inspired.
If you like to watch someone reveal their creative process with a fiery passion, this documentary is for you.
