Review of Jimmy the Kid (1982) by Senor C — 09 Jun 2010
I figured since Gary Coleman has recently passed away I should watch one of his movies. I used to like Diff'rent Strokes & bought the first season but time has not served this series well & Coleman is sorta annoying.
Trying to cash in on Coleman's popularity everyone in Jimmy the Kid is a buffoon expect Coleman that makes getting through this a chore. Even w/ a supporting cast that isn't bad including Pat Morita who is just wasted in this.
Don Adams makes Maxwell Smart look fucking brilliant & Avery Schreiber doesn't even make hungry for Doritos. Painful comedy & a final punchline that makes me want to punch the writers of this right in the throat.
Maybe I need to see On the Right Track or The Kid w/ the Broken Halo again (it's been a least a good 25 years). Perhaps they are better then I remember & serve Coleman some justice.
