I have always thought the early Saw films to be underrated in terms of writing, which is why it was so disappointing to see this movie so poorly written. The acting is also quite poor for the vast majority of the cast, saving the obvious exceptions (not named because of spoilers).

The game scenes also lack the intense race against the clock feeling trademarked by the earlier films, and become boring and predictable quickly. If you are a die hard fan of the franchise it is worth your hour and a half, but anything other than Saw veterans will gain little from the film.
