Review of Jigsaw (2017) by Hugo R — 13 Feb 2018
This is NOT a good movie. How could anybody feel they got a rewarding experience from watching this shit? It was lazy, completely uninspired, had lame effects. . . even a lack of any good gore effects! They had one job-give the unwitting, gullible horror masses some interesting kills, and they give us a guy who gets his head cut into eighths by lasers.
Yeah. That actually happened. The twist was hilariously lame, and the "characters" were. . . . oh, who am I kidding? Horror fans don't want quality. They're happy watching whatever scraps Hollywood shits out on their plates.
They lap it up gratefully, so the studio will make MORE of this trash. Remember "The Shining?" "The Thing?" "The Exorcist?" A great horror movie can change the way you look at the world.
This shit. . . . this was just about the most cynical, audience-hating mass product possible. And if you enjoyed it? Well, good, I guess. I'm glad you liked it. But I personally felt insulted that a studio would spend so much time and money on something of such recklessly poor quality.
It was hardly a movie at all. Sigh.
