Review of Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter (2001) by Teddy L — 13 Mar 2011
Lesbians are dissapearing and vampires are on the loose. Who do you turn to? None other than a certain Mr. Jesus H. Christ, that's who.
So, Jesus gets asked to help out and before you know he's had a haircut and a shave, got some new clothes and he's out kicking arse.
And it's not just vampires that need fear the power of Jesus, the athiests get a kung-fu beatdown too...which spells trouble for me, Godless heathen that I am.
Hmmm, what else to mention...oh yes, you also get a musical number, God talking to his son through a bowl of cherry ice cream and most importantly Jesus teams up with the legend that is El Santos.
If any of that sounds good to you then you will get some laughs from this film.
Cheap, cheesy, but good fun that entertains with some nice comedy moments and funny dialogue, like Jesus beating up athiests and saying "is this real enough for you?"...well, I found it funny.
The only complaint I had was that Jesus changed his image too early in the film as I would've preffered to see him in his beardy, toga and sandals glory instead of changing his image right at the start.
Good fun that falls happily into the so bad it's good category.
