With a few exceptions the musical performances are better than the 1973 version, the overall acting is better, and the visual aesthetic is unbelievable but while the 73' had ;hippy baggage' this one labors under its own 'pretty boy christian' airs. the performance as judas is once again amazing, it doesnt top anderson's but its still achingly, chillingly, beautiful.
But unlike the 73 version this one doesnt have a sou.
Overall enjoyable if youve seen the original but somehow disapointing.
