Review of Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) by Lauri Ailane — 03 Jul 2008
So first and foremost I would like to mention I hate religion like a cannibal hates salad. That aside I've been a sucker for musicals ever since I was a kid, and this movie was the reason why. From beginning to finish this movie turns the backlights of Catholicism and Judaism into a festive sing and dance party.
Even as they nail Jesus' ass up on the cross he's singing about it to Mary M. The music was all original scores (as opposed to the retarded musicals that give shitty excuses to play Beatles or Abba music).
This was also a fresh feel that's worth it even if you believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
