Review of Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) by Becky R — 27 Mar 2016
It's a film that doesn't concern itself so much with historical accuracy or the set pieces of a biblical epic. It's focus is on the immediate emotions of the story and characters, and it features performances of incredible intensity and passion.
The on-location desert cinematography is breath-taking, and the costumes are striking. It's a unique and abstract take on the story of Christ's Passion that anyone can appreciate, especially if you love the energy of 60s and 70s Rock and culture.
