Review of Jem and the Holograms (2015) by Gerry H — 26 Oct 2015
Awesome adaptation of the cartoon, with a contemporary twist. Don't listen to the critics, half of them have to go along with the crowd, the other half weren't even born when the original was airing and do not have the insight or the right to attempt to compare it.
Watched the show as a kid and loved the way she stood up for the underdog and was smokin hot! It was 80's animation, you had to use your imagination... The movie was great, you have to see it for what it is.
It's not gonna win an Oscar, it's not saying anything new, it's bringing back a bit of the past, putting a twist on it to be relevant and putting itself out there. The same way the Jem does in to movie.
So you can hate it all you want, but you're making the same mistake all of the protagonists in the movie and all the bad guys in the 80's did. And we know what happens to all those guys, don't we?
