Review of JCVD (2008) by Olivier A — 07 Jul 2009
As some would call it, JCVD is a "sleeper hit". Jean-Claude Van Damme plays himself in a way that is quite sincere, down to earth, and touching. I don't know if it has to do with the fact the he speaks his native language and if you can understand French then good for you 'cause you'll see a whole new side of Jean-Claude.
The story in itself is simplistic enough but the interactions and the events are what stand out. I'd recommend him for a nomination since he proved that he can act! Recommended.
