Review of JCVD (2008) by Ben A — 12 Dec 2009
Well, well, I never thought I would ever see the day when Jean Claude Van Damme would give an emotionally complex and moving performance, yet here it is. This film is something else...a remarkable insight into one man's career and the effect it has had on his personal life and psyche.
That's not to say it's all about emotional turmoil and whatnot...the movie is tons of fun and it's incredibly well-directed, sporting some fantastic one shot sequences. However, the heart and soul of the movie comes from Van Damme's incredible performance and it's worth seeing for that alone.
