Review of JCVD (2008) by Tamatai N — 06 Aug 2010
An interesting film thanks mostly to Jean Claude's excellent,touching performance. The plot is interesting and the movies moves along fairly well. The movie did feel a bit uneven to me(I wanted to see more of his domestic challenges) but it features a fleshed out Jean Claude.
The film admits he has flaws and shows him as a regular guy. He doesnt beat dozens of guys senseless,in facte he gets pretty beaten up and even held hostage. This film may not be perfect but it is interesting and touching,more than you can say for most of Van Dammes films.
