Review of Jason Lives - Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) by Anders G — 08 Nov 2009
The only film that will get a fresh rating from me in the entire Friday the 13th series is the 6th part. This film is enjoyable because it mocks the rest of the series and its stupidity, so much so that it seems like a part of Wes Craven's Scream series that would begin almost 10 years later.
The plot is fittingly ludicrous and Jason as a super-zombie is a funny idea. Probably for fans of the series and definitely for those (like me) who didn't like any other Friday the 13th movie. There are some great kills in this movie, but the film could've gone farther with the parody of slasher movies that were all the rage at the time.
Definitely better than Halloween 6, and a good movie to watch with your friends on a Saturday night. Of course, the rest of the movies from here on out are all terrible.
