Review of Jason and the Argonauts (1963) by Graham L — 19 Jul 2008
This is not a "good" movie per say - much of the screenplay is embarrassing, the actors are melodramatic, and the plot either runs around in circles or disappears altogether, but this is an extravaganza of stop-motion effects, and they are among the most incredible ever filmed.
The final sequence retains the power to impress today - now that is saying something. Every kid, and anyone interested in the art of claymation, should see it.
