Review of Jason and the Argonauts (1963) by Mat K — 23 Jul 2008
A good interpretation of the myth, that leaves out all the gory nasty bits that just would not fly in Hollywood in 1963. The relationship between Jason and Medea needed work but the rest of the script holds up pretty well.
The effects are everything you would expect from Ray Harryhausen, although I must say that Todd Armstrong does not fight special effects nearly as well as some other actors Harryhausen has worked with.
