Review of Jason and the Argonauts (1963) by Dominic C — 15 Aug 2009
Classic Harryhausen flick. He thought it was his best film, probably because he pushed him self to the max, animating seven skeletons and a seven headed dragon. Those scenes are cool, but I think the best scene is with Talos.
It's amazing and my kids loved it. Good action and adventure but a bit slow in the beginning. Didn't completely hold the kids interst like the 7th Voyage of Sinbad did. Interesting fact is that Todd Armstrong (who played Jason) killed himself in 1992 via a self0inflicted gunshot wound.
I think Jason was the most fame he ever got. Well, at least he'll be remembered for a classic.
