Review of Jarhead (2005) by Donovan S — 29 Oct 2012
I first saw this film back in 2008 I'm not sure why exactly, but it left a sour taste in my mouth. I don't think I was mature enough to understand the content because I gave "Jarhead" another watch a few days ago and thought it was an excellent portrayal of the emotional toll simply being a soldier can take on a person.
Granted, I have no personal experience in the matter, but I've never known Sam Mendes to shy away from the uncomfortable truth.
