Review of Jarhead (2005) by Maia T — 28 Apr 2016
Jake Gyllenhaal stars as a marine in this first person account of the Gulf war. well directed by Sam Mendes. has virtually no violence but the characters are engaging. some call this a war film but I view it as a character study of a man who was a marine. the acting is great across the board. Gyllenhaal gives a very underrated performance. my biggest flaw with the movie is that it ends rather abruptly. and although I like the closing lines and what it means. I would have liked a little bit more closure and finality. very good movie though.
