Review of Japanese Story (2003) by Cassidy H — 13 Jan 2008
I would like to simple label this as disappointing and move on, but unfortunately, thats an appellation you can't really apply to an australian film.
This is the kind of film that would boldly challenge stereotypes and introduce the audience to new and profound cultural experiences... if it was made in 1958.
Instead of killing off stereotypes, they just snuff a stereotype.
As a side note, until the scenes where Toni Collete is unsuccessfully trying to transport a decaying corpse, I was convinced that this must have had major tourism commission funding.
