Poor adaption. The screenplay's not good. Made me to confuse that the character of Sir John River that, more important, the movie actually fine without him......And I hate to say that Judi Dench was totally not suit the role.
The directing was very poor. Everyone know the story, but can you have some sparks on the picture???? Luckily, two main actors have done their job brilliantly to save the whole movie. Well done! Mia and Michael.
BTW, Can BBC not to do 16:9 movie again?
