Review of Jacob's Ladder (1990) by Hasnain K — 09 Sep 2009
God this movie was freaky.
Jacob's Ladder tells the story of Jacob Singer, a Vietnam vet. He has been seeing strange things around his town lately. Just strange, otherworldly things. A few times he swears that he sees someone with a tail, and sometimes he sees someone who's head is twitching around at a horrifically fast rate (this really scared me, lol). But he has no clue what's going on, and he eventually thinks that the army did something to him that he was unaware of.
And that's where I stop. I refuse to say any more. This movie really puts you, as my friend says, in the "Mind Gym," making you wonder what's reality and what isn't. It's a very rare type of film, you probably won't find anything else like it (except maybe from David Lynch). It really freaked me the hell out at times, and there were plenty of jump scares that really make your heart race.
If you want a wild, headtrip scary movie, Jacob's Ladder is one hell of a ride.
