Review of Jacob's Ladder (1990) by Laura G — 30 May 2012
Jacob (Tim Robbins), a Vietnam War vet, is having strange visions of demons chasing him. He's also reflecting on his life with his old wife Sarah (Patricia Kalember) and the death of his young son (Macaulay Culkin). He thinks he's going insane, but finds out that other men in his platoon were having the same visions, and now they're dying. Is there a government coverup going on, or is Jacob really descending the ladder into madness?
A great film filled with tremendous acting, brilliant pacing and a mysterious tale. I've been told this is one of the best psychological thrillers out there, and I wholeheartedly agree.
