Review of Jackie Brown (1997) by Gavin M — 17 Dec 2011
I thought it was a decent film, although a little over rated. I was not impressed by De Niro or Bridget Fonda's performances. I thought they were lacklustre. Pam Grier was good in it and Samuel L. Jackson was decent.
I did not like the start of the movie, it took me a while to get into the story. I thought the middle and end of the film were good. However, I did not think the ending was very realistic as the bondsman stayed in his job which he said he was going to give up earlier.
Another problem I had with the movie was the characters were not ones I felt any sympathy with. Also, I thought the plot and characters lacked much substance. On the other hand, I thought the film was quite entertaining.
